The team
Mariska Weijer
During her Law studies at Utrecht University Mariska specialised in international and European law. She works at IMSA from the ambition to contribute in making this world a better place.
“The great variety in projects at IMSA, on national and international level, and its multidisciplinary team, are the main things drawing me to the organization. The vigorous way of connecting all stakeholders involved in the process is a very inspiring way of working. IMSA seems to be always involved in current issues that matter; and it often succeeds in bringing subjects to the public’s attention. IMSA’s daring approach is closely connected to my feelings and ambitions in this regard.
Sustainable development is the only way to move forward in this world. Taking care of the environment and each other. The growing awareness among people is a good start, even though we still have a long way to go. My first interest is translating the concept of sustainability into a workable thing and making life better for future generations.”
Mariska has gained experience with subjects such as (sustainable) energy, nature, the North Sea, rules and regulations, water management, biodiversity, maritime spatial planning and habitat banking. After an intensive stakeholder trajectory for the Port of Eemshaven, she is now focusing on an international integral strategy for the North Sea.
