The team
Janneke Pors
Janneke has been working at IMSA Amsterdam since mid 2008. As Project Officer and Coordinator she is involved in various North Sea and Wadden Sea projects, for example about waste, oil and gas production and harbour and nature development.
In all these projects we develop an integral approach to complex social problems: for instance, how to make the North Sea free of plastics. This always involves specific steps: involving relevant stakeholders, formulating a joint problem analysis and joint targets, increasing the knowledge about the problems and solutions, searching for win-wins, and working out solutions in which all stakeholders participate.
Before joining IMSA, Janneke worked as a policy officer and consultant in the financial sector, giving advice about policy development and –implementation in the fields of process management, compliance and risk management.
Janneke studied Industrial Ecology (Msc.) in Leiden and Delft, a multidisciplinary sustainability study aimed at the development of closed technical systems, based on the inspiring example of ecosystems. Before that, she studied Dutch (MA) in Leiden, specializing in argumentation and rhetoric in politics and policies.
‘What fascinates me most in the IMSA approach is that we are developing really sustainable solutions to social problems, in cooperation with all relevant stakeholders. In this process we strive continually to obtain maximum results for all parties involved as well as for the environment.’
