09 February 2007 - Antarctic expedition
The aim of this expedition is to:
  • be trained in leadership (by Robert Swan)
  • take part in workshops on environmental studies (the ecology of Antarctica, the ozone layer, climate change, biodiversity, by IMSA
  • help set up an Education base (the E-base) on the Antarctic Peninsula (by Robert Swan and IMSA).

  • The organizer, Robert Swan, was the first person who walked to both the South Pole and the North Pole. He will be leading a group of some 65 people: up and coming corporate leaders, entrepreneurs in the field of renewable energy, journalists, teachers and students. They will go by ship from Ushuaia in Southern Argentina to the Antarctic Peninsula. One of their destinations is the Russian base at Bellingshausen on King George Island. Here the E-Base will be opened:  the first online education centre on the Antarctic, which will operate solely on sustainable energy.

The focus of the expedition being Leadership on the Edge, Robert Swan will train the team on leadership skills. IMSA will conduct a series of workshops on the Antarctic ecosystem, biodiversity, the ozone layer and climate change. Besides, the team will be handed a series of tools and personal solutions, on both a personal and a corporate level.
