Plastics: An Industry with Identity Issues
Before embarking on the question posed in the title some facts about (thermoplastic) plastics are given: what are the main types and their consumption? Next some general pros and cons of plastics are considered. We then discuss the debate on the environmental compatibility and sustainability of plastics. Finally we draw conclusions on the viability and opportunities of plastics.
