Development Alternatives Foundation

The Development Alternatives Foundation is an initiative of the Society for Development Alternatives (Ashok Khosla) and IMSA Amsterdam and promotes social programmes and socially responsible enterprise in India and other developing countries. The foundation supports scientifically-founded activities that are aimed at eradicating poverty and conserving natural resources. In this way, wide and sustainable social-economic development can be promoted.

Another important task of the foundation is fundraising. Funds raised are used especially to support socially responsible enterprises in reaching their goals in sustainable development. The foundation supports amongst others, Society for Development Alternatives (DA), Society for Technology and Action for Rural Advancement (TARA), Decentralised Energy Systems Pvt Ltd (DESI Power) and TARAhaat Information and Marketing Systems (TARAhaat).
