Low Input Sustainable Agriculture (LISA)

Findus wants to make an active contribution to the sustainability of agriculture. Therefore, the company has designed guidelines to limit the use of fertilizers and pesticides (Low Input Sustainable Agriculture, or LISA). These guidelines are applied to the crops that are cultivated for Findus.
IMSA compared LISA to organic and conventional agriculture and other developments in the agricultural sector. The aim of this research was to identify intrinsic values and areas of improvement, and prepare for marketing and communication. IMSA came to the conclusion that LISA is a unique innovation. We formulated recommendations for improving the structure and the data management system. This turned it from a set of management practices into a site specific, management intensive and resource conserving system.
